PlayStation boss Hermann Hulst has set the gaming world abuzz with his choice for the most anticipated game of 2025. The sequel to the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima.

Ghost of Yōtei, has been named by Hulst as his most anticipated game, sparking excitement among gaming enthusiasts.

Sony’s PlayStation Studios boss Hermann Hulst has expressed his excitement for Sucker Punch Productions’ upcoming game.

Ghost of Yōtei, in an interview with Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine. He described the title as “very special,” although he admitted that choosing just one game from PlayStation’s diverse, high-quality lineup is difficult.

Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, was announced in September 2024 with a trailer that showcased some of the game’s stunning visuals and exciting gameplay.

The game is set about 300 years after the events of the previous game and features a female protagonist, a significant departure from the original. With Sucker Punch Productions’ stellar track record of creating compelling titles, fans are expecting high standards for Ghost of Yōtei.

Ghost of Yōtei is not just a sequel but a leap forward in player freedom. While Ghost of Tsushima allowed players to choose the order of missions, its story was linear. In this new version, the developers have promised a game where players have more control over the overall story.

Ghost of Yōtei is set to be the first major single-player game from a first-party PlayStation studio in 2025. Sony announced in November that it would release a significant single-player title annually starting in 2025 as part of a plan that began with Ghost of Yōtei.

however, none of Sony’s other first-party studios have yet announced any other titles.
